1. Notice at collection
In short: here is everything we collect and why, before you give us anything.
California and several other states require us to tell you, at or before the moment we collect it, what we take and what we do with it. Here is the whole picture in one place:
- Identifiers — name, service address, email, phone number, IP address. Used to build your plan, reach you about it, and confirm we serve your area. Kept for the life of your project plus the period rebate, tax, warranty, and licensing rules require.
- Home and account records — home type and age, existing heating and cooling equipment, insulation and envelope details, utility provider, and any energy bills or usage data you choose to share. Used to size systems, model savings, and identify the incentives you qualify for.
- Commercial information — the services you asked about, proposals issued, agreements signed, and installation history.
- Internet activity — pages viewed, referral source, and interactions with our site, including messages you send our chat assistant. Used for analytics, support, and improving the site.
- Approximate location — derived from your address or IP, to determine utility territory and program eligibility. We do not collect precise device GPS location from this website.
- Photos and site documentation — images of your home and equipment captured during a survey or installation, used for design, permit and rebate filing, warranty, and quality control.
- Audio — call recordings where we tell you a call is recorded and, where required, you consent.
- Inferences — the efficiency conclusions our system draws from the above, such as which upgrades pay back fastest in your home.
We do not sell your personal information for money. We use, or may use, advertising cookies that certain state laws treat as “sharing” or “targeted advertising,” and you can turn that off at any time — see Your Privacy Choices. We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information beyond what is listed here, and we do not collect biometric identifiers such as faceprints, voiceprints, or fingerprints.
2. Who we are and what this covers
“My Efficient Home,” “we,” and “us” refer to My Efficient Home LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company. We are a sales and technology company: we design efficiency plans, identify and file incentives, and coordinate the work. We do not perform the installation ourselves — that is done by licensed contractors we work with. We serve homeowners across New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, the DMV, Illinois, Texas, Florida and California. This policy covers this website, our plan-building and chat tools, our phone and text communications, and the information we handle when a survey or installation is arranged for your home.
Questions, or want to exercise a privacy right? support@getmyefficienthome.com or (845) 492-9860. Mail: My Efficient Home LLC, 30 N Gould St #12776, Sheridan, WY 82801.
3. Where information comes from
In short: what you tell us, what your visit reveals, and public property data.
From you: everything you enter in a form, tell us on a call, type into our chat assistant, or show us during a home survey.
Automatically: standard web and device data through cookies and similar technologies, described in our Cookie Policy.
From others: publicly available property records and utility territory data used to prepare your plan; rebate program administrators confirming eligibility or approval status; and financing partners confirming whether an application was approved. When you apply for financing, your credit application is handled by the lender under its own privacy policy — we do not receive or store your full credit file.
4. How we use information
- Build, price, and deliver your efficiency plan.
- Identify, prepare, and file the rebate and incentive applications you authorize.
- Schedule and perform surveys, installation, service, and warranty work.
- Communicate with you about your plan, project, appointments, and account.
- Send marketing you have agreed to receive, and measure whether it worked.
- Operate, secure, debug, and improve our site and services.
- Meet legal, permitting, licensing, tax, and program-compliance obligations.
- Evaluate a merger, financing, or sale of the business, under confidentiality protections.
Marketing consent is never a condition of purchase. Submitting a form authorizes us to contact you about the plan you requested. Consent to receive marketing calls or texts is separate, optional, and revocable at any time.
5. Who we disclose information to
In short: the people who actually do the work. Each gets only their slice.
- Installation contractors — the licensed contractors who survey and install. They receive only what the job requires, and they handle your information as independent businesses under their own obligations.
- Rebate and incentive program administrators — utilities and state or federal program bodies, when we file an application on your behalf at your direction.
- Financing partners — including Palmetto LightReach, when you choose to apply. They use your information under their own privacy policies.
- Service providers — hosting, CRM, scheduling, e-signature, analytics, call and text delivery, and payment processing vendors, each contractually limited to working on our behalf.
- Advertising and measurement partners — see Cookie Policy and opt out through Your Privacy Choices.
- Professional advisors, regulators, and successors — lawyers, accountants, and auditors; authorities when the law requires; and an acquirer if the business is sold.
We do not share your information with unrelated third parties for their own independent marketing.
6. Cookies, advertising, and opting out
We use cookies that are strictly necessary to run the site, and we use or may use analytics and advertising technologies. Our full Cookie Policy lists the categories and how to control each one. The site works with non-essential cookies disabled.
We honor Global Privacy Control. If your browser or extension sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a valid request to opt out of sale and targeted advertising for that browser, automatically and without further action from you.
7. Text messages (SMS and MMS)
In short: only if you ask for it, and your opt-in never leaves our hands.
We send texts only to people who have opted in. Depending on what you signed up for, messages may include appointment confirmations, project and crew updates, rebate filing status, and — separately and only with your agreement — marketing. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
Reply STOP to any message to end texts, or HELP for help. You can also email support@getmyefficienthome.com or call (845) 492-9860. Opting out of marketing texts does not stop transactional messages about a project already underway, and it does not affect your service.
Mobile opt-in information and consent are never sold, rented, or shared with third parties for their own marketing. The only parties who receive it are the messaging providers that deliver our texts on our behalf.
8. Calls, recordings, and chat
We may monitor or record calls for quality, training, and accuracy of what was promised. Several of our states require every party to consent to recording — in those states we tell you at the start of the call, and you can ask us not to record. Conversations with our website chat assistant are retained so we can answer follow-ups and improve responses; please do not enter payment card numbers, Social Security numbers, or other sensitive details into chat.
9. How the AI builds your plan
In short: software drafts it, a human is accountable for it, and you can talk to that human.
Our plans are generated by an automated system that evaluates your home details, local climate, utility rates, and available programs to model which upgrades pay back fastest and what incentives apply. Two things you should know:
- A person reviews the plan before it becomes an offer. The automated output is a starting point, not a final price. Nothing is binding until it appears in a written agreement.
- No automated decision produces a legal or similarly significant effect on you. We do not use this system to make credit decisions; lending decisions are made by financing partners under their own processes. You may ask us how a recommendation was reached and request human review by contacting us.
We do not use your personal information to train publicly available, general-purpose AI models.
10. How long we keep information
We keep personal information for as long as it takes to do the job, then for as long as the law or a program requires. In practice: inquiry records for a limited period if you never become a customer; project, permit, warranty, rebate, and tax records for the multi-year windows those programs and state rules require; and marketing preferences and opt-out records for as long as we operate, so we can keep honoring them. After that we delete or de-identify.
11. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, including encryption in transit, access controls, and vendor diligence. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your information, we will notify you as the law requires.
12. Your privacy rights and choices
In short: ask and we will show you, correct it, delete it, or stop.
Wherever you live in the United States, you may ask us to: confirm what we hold about you and give you a copy; correct it; delete it; opt out of targeted advertising and of any “sale” or “sharing” as those terms are defined by state law; and limit marketing. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws — including California, Virginia, Connecticut, Colorado, Texas, Florida, Maryland, New Jersey, Delaware, Oregon, and Montana, among others — have these rights by statute, along with the right to appeal if we deny a request. To submit a request, use Your Privacy Choices, email support@getmyefficienthome.com with the subject “Privacy request,” or call (845) 492-9860. We verify requests before acting, respond within the window your state’s law sets, and accept requests from an authorized agent with proof of authority.
If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision with the word “Appeal.” We will review and respond in writing, and if we still deny it, we will tell you how to contact your state attorney general.
13. Children
Our services are for adult homeowners and decision-makers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
14. Referral and incentive programs
If we offer a referral bonus, gift card, or similar reward, participation is voluntary, the terms are disclosed when it is offered, and you may withdraw at any time. Any difference in value relates directly to the value your participation provides. Referring someone means confirming they agreed to hear from us.
15. Changes and how to reach us
We will post changes here with a new effective date, and flag material changes prominently on this page. Reach us any time at support@getmyefficienthome.com, (845) 492-9860, or through our contact page.
